The awards assembly for Fossil Ridge Intermediate School took place on May 20, 2009. They chose a boy and girl from each grade level to receive the Principal's Award. I received a phone call from the principal the night before requesting my presence at the assembly because Bronson was going to receive a special award. The nomination written by his Language Arts teacher, Mrs. Monkres, and read by the principal and brought tears to my eyes. Watch this video (with sound on, of course)

Good to see Cousin Dave!!!
I ran to WalMart tonight (supposedly for just a couple of things) but I saw my cousin, Dave, and his oldest son crossing the street from Kohl's to WalMart when I was at the stoplight. So, I yelled at him and we met at WalMart. His wife, Halli, and youngest son were already in WalMart and they were waiting for new tires to be put on their vehicle. I hadn't seen Dave and his family for so many years and, in fact, I had never met his youngest son. It was so good to see them. You would think we would see each other more often since we only live about 2 hours apart.

My kids make me laugh
Keaton and I had been talking about the fact that I had to go out-of-town the end of the month for a doctor appointment and they would have to spend the night at Grandma's house or Grandma could stay at our house. Later, I told him that Landon and Cara would be in town during that time period and so they could stay here with them.
Keaton: Where would they stay?
Mom: In my bedroom.
Keaton: (eyes big) Both of them?
Mom: They're married.
Keaton: Oh yeah.

GREAT KIDS
This afternoon we were doing our housework when one of Keaton's friends called and wanted to play. Keaton told him he was doing chores but would call when he was done. The friend showed up about 30 minutes later and invited him to the baseball park with him and his dad, but Keaton still hadn't finished his chores (the TV was distracting him). Bronson told Keaton he would do the chores for him --- what an amazing 13-year-old I have. Maybe one day Keaton will appreciate Bronson for all he does for him.

On July 24, 2008, it was a sad day for our family. We took Devin to the Las Vegas Airport after the St. George RoadRunners so rudely released him from the team. He signed with the Gateway Grizzlies the next week and did REALLY well (I listened to the games on the internet). You will notice Bronson's sunburned face --- the three of them went fishing at Sand Hollow earlier in the week and Bronson forgot to apply sunscreen even though I packed it for him. Oh well, a lesson learned. We miss you Devin Collis!!!

I WON
On Friday, October 17, 2008 I received a notification that I won a Dell computer, flat screen monitor, and inkjet printer for myself and one for my son's school in the Coca Cola/Family Dollar Computer Sweepstakes. I mailed in an entry form I picked up at Family Dollar. It was one entry per person, so I entered myself, Aaron, and my mom. The next day my mom called and she also received a win notification. I'm still in shock!!!
